Q How and where do I get my driving licence from?
A You can pick up a D1 licence application pack from the post office or the training school at Surepass. Alternatively telephone or email Surepass and we will be happy to send you a D1 application pack.

Q How much does it cost to get my provisional driving licence?
A Your provisional licence costs £38.
 
Q What happens if I have difficulty completing the application form?
A You can take your form to any post office where the counter staff will be happy to help you or you can bring the form to Surepass where an instructor will assist you.

Q How long will my licence take to come through?
A The DVLA state that your licence should arrive within 15 working days from the date that they receive your application.
 
Q I'm 15 years old - when can I apply for my provisional licence?
A You can apply for your licence a maximum of 2 months before your 16th birthday. Your licence is not valid until your 16th birthday.

Q I've lost my driving licence, what do I do?
A If you have a photo card licence you can apply for a duplicate licence over the telephone as long as both parts have been lost, destroyed or stolen and there are no changes to the details on your licence. Telephone DVLA: 0870 240 0009
If you have the old style licence, (paper), you must fill out a D1 licence application form which can be obtained from the post office or Surepass.
 
Q I need to change the address on my licence?
A If your name or address (or both) has changed since your last licence was issued, you need to fill out a D1 licence application form enclosing your current driving licence (and any relevant paperwork).
